THE SANDWICH FAIR in a CLASS of our own . . .

Educating & Entertaining

The Sandwich Fair Association, Inc. would like to invite you and your students to an educational experience of a lifetime. The Sandwich Fair is always Wednesday through Sunday Labor Day week. School groups (students and chaperones) are admitted free from 8:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of the fair.

Don't miss our Fun Fair Facts Adventure Book. The FREE Adventure books are available at the Gazebo Information Center, Antique Farm Equipment Exhibit, Sandwich Historical Society Booth, Horticulture Building, Craft Demonstration Building, and FFA Farm Zoo. Follow Skippy the Sandwich Fair Squirrel as he pops up at different locations around the fair. Students get a stamp at each location, and may claim a free prize at the Gazebo Information Center after they receive all the stamps!

The book includes facts and fun educational opportunities that can be related to many curriculum areas. Start the school year with a group learning experience you can refer to the rest of the year and your students earn a FREE prize for participating.

There are numerous learning activities at the fair. The livestock area offers your students the opportunity to see many farm animals in the Exhibit Barns and in the Farm Zoo. The Demonstration Building features artists and crafts people at work. Students can observe crafts such as pottery making, basket weaving, wood carving, and wheat weaving. Look for photography, artwork, collections, and miscellaneous crafts exhibits in the Arts and Crafts Building. Picture-perfect grains, fruits, vegetables, and flowers are displayed in the Horticulture Building. The Home Arts Building holds the baked goods, intricate needlework, decorated cakes, and preserved food. There is also a large display of antique gas engines, working antique farm equipment, and modern farm equipment. The Farm Bureau, area hospitals, and other exhibitors have educational displays at the fair. There are also numerous commercial exhibits. Free children's programs are available every day.
